charley horse
like a knot in a muscle that is really tight. to get rid- massage and use heat. caused by a lack of O2 or dehydration
cramps
when muscles work to fast, get rid of- muscle relaxer like advil to slow/ calm the muscle down
osteoclasts
what begins ossification. they eat away cartilage to start the process
osteocytes
the finished product of ossification. bone cells that have matured from primitive bone to osteoblasts
red marrow
located in the center of a bone. responsible for hematopoeisis- the process of making blood
yellow marrow
located near the ends of bones. responsible for making fats
true ribs
attached to the vertebrae and have their own cartilage attaching to the sternum. (1-8) are true

are only attached in the backs . they share cartilage attaching them to the sternum (9-10) or floating ribs have no cartilage (11-12)
soft spot
in an infants cranium is the part where the fontannels have not yet fused. its very sensitive and is gone by the age of 2
fontannels
soft flat pieces of cartilage that make up a babies skull. dont ossify until 2 yrs. it makes it so that birth is easier and the infants brain can grow

explain the cause of flat feet
because of age, the arch caused by the metatarsals falls, the foot flat and the tendons and ligaments weaken
