Q

Explain the interpretation and delivery of the following and who it is said by.

“I’m a British Citizen you give me my passport back or I will complain to the British council and then I will have your I will have your job”

A

They take it in turns to each say part of this phrase and it is delivered in an authoritative manner. It shows Khan’s frustration at the discrimination and how he feels as though he has a right to complain. Khan doesn’t actually have the authority to tae his job but he believes himself to be superior.

“I really, I really, well I really want to intimidate him”

Q

Explain the interpretation and delivery of the following and who it is said by.

“I need my conveniences. I need my essential suplies and they are; a bathroom, bath, hot shower, television, MTV, the usual things”

A

Said by Khan but lip synced by Larbi. Larbi physically acts out the items. This highlights the poverty of where they are and what he has become used to.

Q

Explain the interpretation and delivery of the following and who it is said by.

“So I’m like getting on this train”

A

Khan says this line but they both perform the same action. They sweep their arm in a horizontal pathway from their right to left with a pointed finger. Larbi continues the circle by walking rond towards upstange centre in a circular pathway.

It is a very literal gesture and provides a seamless transition in to the next section.
