SDG 1 reasons why
Because hundreds of millions of people still live in extreme poverty

Eradicate extreme poverty (those living on less than $1.90/day)

Because hundreds of millions of people are undernourished
Because poor nutrition causes nearly half of deaths in children under 5 and ¼ children have stunted growth
Because agriculture is the largest employer in the world

End hunger and ensure access to nutritious and sufficient food

Because 57 million children remain out of school
Because 50% of out of school children live in areas of conflict

All girls and boys complete free, quality primary and secondary education
Increase the number of people with skills for employment
Ensure all people have adequate numeracy and literacy skills

Because adolescent girls, aged 10 to 19, are more likely to die from AIDS than any other cause
Because 1/3 of countries in developing regions do not have gender parity in primary education

Because over a billion people source drinking water that is contaminated with faecal matter
