Q

Compare and contrast the features of the light and electron microscope

A

The light microscope creates images using light whilst the electron microscope creates an image using electron beams.

Light microscope has a maximum magnification of 1500x whilst the electron microscope has a maximum magnification of 2000000x.

Light microscope has a Finest resolution of 0.1 micrometers whilst the electron microscope has a Finest resolution of 0.2 nanometers.

Light microscope can magnify both living and dead organisms whilst the electron microscope can magnify only dead organisms

Light microscope has a very low cost whist the electron microscope has a very expensive cost
