How an apline climate impacts viticulture?
No month exceeds an average temperature of 50 F/10 C.As altitute increases, temperature drops. The rule of thumb is 1%F drop in temperature for every 250 ft increase in elevation. or 1 c decrease for every 200 m increase in altitude. But this altitue temperature correlation varies with the seasons. growing seasons are short, cool and bookended by frost. The majority of the annual precipitation falls as snow. Large bodies of water will help tame the Alpine climate, but still struggle.
