Wait for completion of roof size-up
Proceed to roof for LSR rescue, if needed
Otherwise, team up with 2nd LCC and place ladder for top floor VEIS

1st truck LCC - OLT type rowframe (4 window front)

A

After roof FF has reached roof, reposition aerial for VEIS of fire apartment if fire on the 3rd floor or above when teamed up with 2nd LCC
When fire on 1st or 2nd floor, VEIS fire apartment using portable ladders when teamed up with 2nd LCC
After VEIS of fire apartment, aerial may be used to VEIS adjoining apartment or floors above.

1st truck OV rowframe

A

For top floor fires, saw is taken in place of the hook
Except for assist LCC in front with ladder rescue, immediately go to the rear and perform outside vent if floors within reach.
When no front or rear rescue needed, enter and search when teamed up with another member. When unable to team up, return to front of building and team up with 1st LCC for top floor VEIS.
For building with fire escape, team up with 1st roof and VEIS the fire floor. When not needed in fire floor, VEIS floors above.
For top floor fire, proceed to roof with saw and Halligan tool. When possible, descend fire escape and VEIS. When unable to descend fire escape, notify officer. When directed, attempt to vent fire apartment from roof level and assist with roof vent.

A

Take aerial to roof. The immediate adjoining should not be used due to possibility of cockloft involvement
For building with rear fire escape, team up with 1st OV for VEIS of fire floor. If not needed, VEIS floors above.
When no fire escape, descend aerial and team up with LCC for VEIS of top floor. If aerial is no longer in position, be guided by company officer.
For top floor fires, vent top floor windows as directed by officer ON THE TOP FLOOR.

General responsibilities 1st and 2nd truck rowframes

A

1st truck responsible to check rear and all horizontal and initial vertical vent
2nd truck confirm roof vent, check rear and sides of building for victims and extension, and, for top floor fire, check exposures for extension.

2nd truck - top floor fire rowframe

A

Brownstone type - split the company and examine exposures for extension. Inside team should operate in most severely threatened exposure. Can FF should consider taking two 6’ hooks.
OLT type - top floor to VEIS adjoining apartment.
In either building, the officer can assign the LCC to an exposure, when they are no longer needed for laddering operations in building front.

Position aerial. When. I longer needed at aerial, go into exposure as directed by ladder company officer.

A

Except for rescue in front, check rear for occupants and vent
When building has rear fire escape, team up with 1st OV. When no rear fire escape, team up with LCC.

A

Take saw and 6’ Halligan hook.
When fire is in the cockloft, work with 1st roof and vent with saw
Make examination holes in returns of exposures
- use caution when choosing returns to be opened. Returns remote from the fire should be avoided, as this could spread fire in the cockloft

Operate from fire escape and VEIS top floor after teaming up with 1st OV

Rowframes - tower ladder variations

A

LCC - remains at pedestal
OV - operates as basket FF
Brownstone and OLT type - OV waits for roof size-up before repositioning bucket to fire floor for vent
Roof FF - basket is preferred method of roof access
-A visible life hazard will negate initial use of basket for roof access
Roof FF brownstone type - after completing roof duties team up with OV for top floor VEIS
Roof FF OLT type - perform VEIS of fire apt at the request of ladder officer. Team up with 2nd roof.
2nd truck - 2nd truck LCC does not have to report to pedestal, and may be assigned for:
- examination of exposures
- assist with roof operations
- be available to team up with another member
