2nd truck
Assist search and evac of Fire floor
If possible, use same elevator as 1st truck.
Upon arrival on floor below (or fire floor) obtain info from 1st truck and coordinate search of fire floor.
1st truck
Determine fire location and select a stairway with a standpipe as attack stair.
Primary on fire floor
Outside survey by LCC
3rd truck
Use same elevator as 1st and 2nd truck, if possible
Upon arrival at floor below:
Determine # of stairways serving fire floor and floor above
Proceed to floor above via stairway other than attack stairway
Determine best stairway for evac
Report conditions, status of evac, extension of
fire, and presence of access stairs down or up
Examine all stairs for occupants/smoke
Remove occupants from attack stair for reasonable distance and prevent occupant use
If difficulty is encountered clearing stair, notify 1st truck or fire sector supervisor/branch director to withhold the attack.
Conduct primary of floor above
4th truck
Report to ICP
Each member equipped with spare cylinder
Obtain safest elevator to roof
If fire is on a floor serving a hi-rise bank, proceed to location below fire, then use stairway other than attack to get to roof
Conduct primary of top five floors
Operate under IC until SAE established
Logical assignment would be upper floors of elevator bank serving fire floor.
Additional trucks
Report to ICP if lobby, or, if staffed, lobby control unit. Upon establishment of staging area, units will report to staging area
1st engine
Remain at ICP until 1st ladder verifies fire location.
2nd engine
Provide communication link between lobby and the fire area. Bring post radio to vicinity of the standpipe outlet from which first line is being stretched
3rd and 4th engine
2nd line as directed. Maybe be used to:
Reinforce first line
Protect first line
Protect the search and evac of fire floor
Contain and confine spread and/or prevent fire wrapping around core and endangering first line
Greater alarm engines
Report to ICP, or, if staffed, lobby control unit. If staging area established, report to staging.
Units without specific orders to the contrary shall bring
SCBA’s, rolled up lengths, and spare SCBA cylinders to lobby area.
