HRFPMDs Flashcards
1st truck inside team
Bring search rope for fire in HRFPMDs
Consult with engine officer before selecting attack stairway. This stair does not require a standpipe.
If smoke and/or heat condition exists in public hallway
Prior to entering public hallway, ladder officer shall get a report from members outside and the roof firefighter on the floor above.
If unable to determine if this is a wind impacted fire, enter the public hall with one member of the forcible entry team and locate the apartment and control the door. The other member remains at the attack stairway door on the hallway side of the door. The engine company officer is responsible for control of the stairwell side of the door.
If, while operating in the public hall it is determined to be a wind impacted fire, the ladder officer shall ensure members exit the public hallway. Once ladder company officer has door control, notify the IC and have engine advance hoseline. Ladder company member at stairwell doors shall also advance.
1st truck OV
Tools: Halligan, axe or hook
Conduct outside survey with chauffeur
If no outside ops indicated

- If building has no firemen service, proceed to fire floor and team up with officer and assist in fire apartment
1st truck roof FF
Tools: Halligan, hydra ram, KO curtain
Proceed to apartment directly above via attack stairway
By keeping the apartment door open and opening a window in a room over the fire room, the roof firefighter will be able to simulate how the wind will flow through the fire apartment.
If wind impacted, open window and deploy curtain. Close window on WCD ropes. Do not break window glass.
1st truck
Recall elevators regardless of floor
Control attack and evacuation stairs in the fire floor
1st ladder officer will initiate and control horizontal vent of the fire apartment. All other vent is under control of the IC.
1st truck chauffeur
Conduct outside survey with OV
Deliver LSR to floor above if roof FF calls for it, unless victim can be reached by ladder from outside. If you deliver LSR to floor above, notify officer if you are staying to assist or continuing to roof.
If no outside operations, WCD or LSR evolutions necessary, team with 2nd LCC and proceed to roof.
Check condition of hallway on top floor, and all stairways leading to roof for smoke and victims.
If there is no blind shaft to go above the fire floor, take elevator to 2 floors below fire floor and proceed to roof via evacuation stair.
2nd truck
Ensure all elevators are recalled and searched
Control vent in areas other than the fire apartment AS DIRECTED BY IC
search public hallway, and ensure all evacuation stair doors are closed on the fire floor.
Search attack stairwell for 5 floors above fire
Coordinate WCD, if ordered deployed by IC
Include search rope with inside team tools
2nd truck officer and forcible entry team
Recall all elevators and ensure they are searched.
Proceed to fire flor via attack stair and communicate with engine and ladder company officers. Confirm attack and evacuation stairways.
Maintain evac stair door/s closed and initiate search of public hall.
If WCD deployment is initiated, 2nd ladder company officer must coordinate this evolution.
2nd truck OV

Contact 1st OV/chauffeur via handy-talky
If outside operations in progress, team up with 2nd LCC and assist

Report to lobby with all personnel and be directed by IC
Confirm evacuation stair doors have been closed on the fie flor and are maintained in the closed position. Position members on the stairwell side until fire sector or IC deems that situation no longer presents a hazard
If roof operations are not covered by 1st or 2nd truck, IC may assign 3rd truck to the roof
Roof FF goes to apartment above with KO curtain and normal tools
3rd truck may be assigned to floor below for WCD or LSR evolutions
