POINT - TO LISTEN TO DIFFERENT ARGUMENTS
Explain - this means that individuals must be careful and make thoughtful decisions before voting by hearing the views of different parties.
Example - We can listen to different parties such as SNP, Labour or Conservatives and hear about their views.
POINT - TO TURN UP ON ELECTION DAY AND VOTE
Explain - this means that people will turn up to polling stations and choose who they want to vote for on the ballot paper
Example - Recent votes have included the Brexit and Independence referendums
POINT - STAND TO BE ELECTED AND CAMPAIGN
Explain - individuals can put themselves forward and campaign as to why they should be elected over other candidates
Example - Michael Matheson and Nicole Sturgeon both put themselves forward to represent their constituencies
