BORG RPE Scale
rating exertion, breathlessness and fatigue during physical activity
RPE = rate of physical exertion
- Original Borg scale has a range from 6 to 20 (with 6 being no exertion at all, and 20 being maximum effort)
- Modified RPE scale has a range from 0 to 10 (with 0 being no exertion and 10 being maximum effort
Numerical pain scale
assess pain severity at that moment in time
0–10 scale, with zero meaning “no pain” and 10 meaning “the worst pain imaginable”
6 min walk test
- Object of this test is to walk as far as possible for 6 minutes
- You are permitted to slow down, to stop, and to rest as necessary
- designed to measure the exercise capacity of patients with chronic respiratory disease
