A

Effects the legs, kidneys and arms most commonly.

 Peripheral BV: everything except brain and heart vessels

Tests to identify PVD:

A

 ankle-brachial index: pressure in arm compared to leg if different, may be blockage

 angiogram: pictures of vessels (xray) – detects narrowing or blockage

 doppler ultrasound: abnormal blood flow, which gives clues about blockages
