A
chronic loss/decrease of blood flow in the peripheral body

Most common risk factor of PVD
A
Atherosclerosis, fat/cholesterol and plaque build up.

Signs & Symptoms of PVD
A
Effects the legs, kidneys and arms most commonly.
Peripheral BV: everything except brain and heart vessels

Tests to identify PVD:
A
ankle-brachial index: pressure in arm compared to leg if different, may be blockage
angiogram: pictures of vessels (xray) – detects narrowing or blockage
doppler ultrasound: abnormal blood flow, which gives clues about blockages
