Etiology of covid 19
Contracted through droplets
Larger infectious particles may linger latching onto surrounding objects, infecting someone who is touching the infected surface, then proceeding to touch eyes, mouth, or nose
Pathophysiology of COVID-19
- Viruses only replicate inside living cells
- May be entered through orifices, infecting the respiratory tract and binding to epithelial cell lining the airways, taking control of their protein production.
- Infected cell produces viral copies, damaging themselves and spreading to other cells.
- The immune system responds to fight virus. Inflammation from this causes symptoms like body aches, coughing, runny nose, and fever which are signs your immune system is fighting the virus.
