Enables breathing and consists of the lungs and air passages.

A
Within the chest cavity and is protected on both sides by the ribs

A
Spongy tissues composed of microscopic cells where inhaled air is exchanged for carbon dioxide during one breath

What is the Diaphragm?
A
Muscular wall that separates the thorax from the abdominal region and helps control breathing

What is inhalation and exhalation?
A
IN oxygen is absorbed into the blood. OUT carbon dioxide expelled from the lungs

Why is this important?
A
Healthy skin needs oxygen. Poorly oxygenated skin will take longer to respond to treatment or not at all
