Rad Monitors/ODCM Flashcards
RU-1, Containment atmosphere
LCO requires Particulate and Gas
Isolates on CIAS
Detects 1 gpm leak in 1 hour
RU-2/3 EW train A/B
Indicates RCS in-leakage if EW is crosstied to NC
RCP HPSC or SDC Hx
RU-4/5 Steam Generator blowdown sample lines
Isolated by SIAS, AFAS, MSIS
RU-6 NC
Detects in-leakage from Letdown Hx or HPSCs
RU-7 Aux Steam condensate tank
Re-aligns tank return to LRS (isolates path to the condenser)
RU-12 Waste Gas Decay Tank
ODCM
Isolates tank release path on high beta activity
Should not detect a tank leak
Release allowed if:
-2 independent samples of the tanks are analyzed
-2 qualified members verify the calcs and valve lineup
Flow monitor failed: release may continue if the flow rate is estimated every 4 hours
RU-18 Main Control Room
EAL Alert if > 15 mR/hr
RU-19 New Fuel Area
TRM, if non functional, survey every 24 hours
RU-29/30 MCR intake vents
3.3.9, actuates CREFAS
RU-31 SFP Area
Actuates FBEVAS
Cross trips CREFAS
TRM
RU-37/38 Containment Purge
Actuates CPIAS
Cross trips CREFAS
Purge area RU between power access purge and refueling purge exhaust ducts in aux building
RU-139A/B
RU-140A/B
Main Steam Lines in MSSS
N-16 detectors
Used for SGTR diagnosis
Detects > 10 GPM leak
TRM-one required per SG
RU-141A/B Condenser vacuum/Gland seal exhaust
Channel 1 (a): aligns post filter blower unit. Alarms at 1 GPM with 1% failed fuel (1440 GPD)
Channel 2 (b): most sensitive for tube leakage. Alarms at 50 GPD because its not diluted by GS exhaust
RU-142 a/b/c/d Main Steam Lines N-16 monitors
Detects 30 GPD leak
RU-143/144 Plant Vent Low and High range
ODCM
Low range shuts off and hi range comes on (and vice versa) as level comes up
Estimate flow once every 4 hours
Initiate the pre-planned alternate sampling program
Place moveable air monitors in line
Grab samples every 12 hours if the monitor is functioning locally
