Quizzzzzzzzz Flashcards
What is conduction
Where heat passes on to another object through touch.
What is convection
Where heat passes on to another object through moving liquid or gas
What is radiation
Where heat passes on to another object through energy traveling through space
What is the sun made of
About 73% hydrogen 255 helium and around 2% heavier elements
What is detritivore
An organism that feeds on dead things
What is the formula for density
Density = M/V or Mass÷Volume
What is the formula for work
Work= Force x distance
What is covalent bonding
When two atoms share some of the same electrons. There are two types of covalent bonding, polar and nonpolar. Polar covalent bonding is where the two different elements have a different amount of electrons, and every different element has a different amount of electrons, and they bond. And since their electronegativity is different it will be polar, like water. And Nonpolar bonds are where both the elements have the same number of electrons and therefore have the same electronegativity, and they bond. Like O2 or any of the same element.
