Quantification & Costing Level 3 Flashcards

1
Q

On the Rugby Project, how did you undertake the RIBA Stage 0 estimate?

A

I produced an order of cost estimate based on the functional unit of the project, utilising historic cost data from a previous project undertaken. I considered adjustments such as location and time, as the benchmarked data was from a Retail Park store in the Southern Region of England undertaken 3 years prior. As the Rugby Project was based in a Shopping Centre, I accounted for the possible restrictions associated with this such as lack of skip location and restrictions on deliveries due to Centre Management.

Q

On the Rugby Project, what information was available at RIBA Stage 1 to enable you to compile a cost plan?

A

At this stage, I received the existing and proposed layouts from the client’s design team and an architectural brief dictating specification, confirmed site restrictions and required working hours.
