What are the key differences between SMM7 and NRM2?
A
- NRM2 now provides further elemental breakdowns within work section
- many small items are now deemed included
- Clearer definitions of prime costs and prov sums

What is your understanding of a Prime cost?
A
- Is the cost of an item that has either not been selected or the price was unknown as the time the contract was entered into.
- the client would therefore pay the difference in price.

How would you advise your client if an error was found within your Cost Plan?
A
- If the error was identified before a contract had been entered into, then a discussion between client and contractor could be held to agree to amend.
- If a Contract has been signed, then both parties would have to stand by the rate/qty. Only through agreement by both parties could the error be changed.
