PW (Plant Cooling Water) Flashcards
What LOW discharge pressure will SBY Plant Cooling Water Pump (PW) AUTO START
40 psig
Unit is running at full power 100%
‘B’ PW pump is tagged out for routine oil change
The ‘A’ PW experiences a lockout condition and trips
Based on these indications, the operating Crew should?
A. Take immediate actions to reduce loading on TC and NC
B. Immediately cross connect NC to EW
C. Enter 40AO-9ZZ03 (Loss of cooling water) and Trip the Reactor
D. Cross connect CW to the PW system so cooling can be maintained.
C. Enter 40AO-9ZZ03 (Loss of Cooling Water) and trip the Reactor
Circulating Water pumps CWN-P01A - D are all in service
Plant Cooling Water Pump, PWN-P01A is in service with PWN-P01B tagged out
Nuclear Cooling Water (NCW) pump, NCN-P01B is in service with NCN-P01A in standby
Turbine Cooling Water (TWC) pump, TCN-P01B is in service with TCN-P01A in standby
An 86 bus fault relay is accidentally tripped on NBN-S01, 4160 non class bus
Which of the following is correct?
A. There will be no change in CW or PW pump status because the NBN cross tie breaker, NBN-S01C, will close maintaining power to NBN-S01
B. NCW and TCW temperature will increase. The 86 lockout can only be reset locally. PWN-P01A pump will auto start when PWN-HS-5 is taken out of the PTL position and power has been restored to NBN-S01
C. 2 Circulating Water pumps will trip causing a degradation of Main Condenser vacuum. The 86 Lockout can be reset from the Control Room. The Circulating Water pumps must be manually started once power is restored to NBN-S01
D. 2 CW pumps and PWN-P01A will trip causing a degraded Main Condenser Vacuum as well as increasing temperatures in the NCW and TCW systems. All 3 pumps must be manually started once power is restored to NBN-S01
B. NCW and TCW temperatures will increase. The 86 Lockout can only be reset locally. PWN-P01A pump will auto start when PWN-HS-5 is taken out of the PTL position and power has been restored to NBN-S01
