Who is eligible to be selected as a juror? (3)

A

Persons registered as an elector, aged between 18-75 years old and has been a resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for five years since the age of 13.

Who is ineligible to be selected for jury service? (3)

A

Mentally disordered persons, the judiciary - current and retired and other persons concerned with administration of justice - police officer etc.

How can imprisonment affect eligibility for jury service? (4)

A

Imprisonment for 5+ years = disqualified for life. Imprisonment for up to 5 years = disqualified for 10 years. Those convicted of offences under s.20A-D of the Juries Act 1974 = disqualified for 10 years. People on bail are disqualified.
