What is specificity?
Training should be specific to individuals sport, activity or physical/ skill related fitness goals to be developed
What is progressive overload?
Training needs to be demanding enough to cause the body to adapt improving performance
What is adaptation?
How the body reacts to training loads by increasing its ability to cope with these loads
What is individual differences/ needs?
Performers should be designed to meet individuals training goals and needs
What is reversibility?
If training stops or intensity is insufficient to cause adaptations training effects are reversed.
What is variation?
Vary training to avoid boredom and maintain enjoyment.
What is rest and recovery?
How long you relax your muscles for so body can recover to allow adaptation to occur.
