Who is responsible for a project?
The executive (several people) - (not the project manager)
What tips would you give a Project Manager who needs to document project organization?
- Look at roles and responsibilities in similair projects in the organization.
- Meet the executive to discuss their responsibilites.
- Define roles and responsibilites (and authority for desicions) in writing.
Which roles should be represented?
Business, user, supplier.
What is a programme?
A temporary flexible organization structure created to coordinate, direct and oversee the implementation of a set of related projects.
A project can either be part of X or if it’s outside X, it exists in Y…
Either part of a programme or the coorporate organization.
Why are project responsibilities given to roles, not persons?
Because one person can have more than one role (such as project support) can be assigned to several persons.
What is a stakeholder?
Someone who can have an effect on the project or who can be affected by the project.
What is the role of the executive?
Does this project provide value for money?
Looks after business interests.
Who represents the users, and where?
Senior user, project board.
What is the task for the senior user?
Make sure that the correct products are being made and to the agreed level of quality.
What are the levels of Project Manager Structure / Project organization?
1: Corporate or programme management
2: Direction level (Project Board)
3: Management level (Project manager)
4: Delivery Level (Team manager)
What is the difference between levels of Project Manager Structure and levels for Project management team?
Project management team does not include corporate or programme management level.
