Q

What is a bar chart?

A

Shows data in the form of categories which the researcher wants to compare. The categories should be placed on the x-axis. The columns should be the same width and separated by a space which illustrates that the data is not continuous. It is ‘discrete data’.

Q

What is a histogram?

A

Histograms are used for continuous data (interval data). The continuous scores are placed on the x-axis and the frequency of them is shown on the y-axis. There should be no spaces between the data as it is continuous and each bar should be the same width.
