is used with
yet
just
already
when we speak about RESULT. The RESULT is what is important for us.
Have you washed the dishes yet?
Yes, I have. (Have a look! They are over here and they are clean. We can see a result here).
Have you done your homework yet?
No, I haven’t. I haven’t done my homework yet. (Have a look! I am working on it. It is here.)
We use “yet” in negative sentence and questions. “Yet” goes at the end of a sentence:
Have you done your homework yet?
No, I haven’t done my homework yet.
We use “already” and “just” (právě ) in positive sentences in the middle of a sentence:
I have already done my homework. Have a look! It is ready.
I have just done my homework. I can play now.
Have you been to Japan yet?
No, I haven’t been there yet.
Yes, I’ve already been there. Actually, I’ve just come back.
Právějsem upekla čokoládový dort. Dal by sis kousek?
I’ve just baked a chocolate cake. Would you like a piece?
Ano, právě mi o tom řekla.
Yes, she’s just told me about it.
