If sucrose is boiled with dilute hydrochloric acid, will give positive result when warmed with Benedict’s solutions
This is because sucrose has been hydrolysed by the acid to glucose and fructose

drop a few drops of iodine dissolved I potassium iodide solution.

place samples in a boiling tube, in liquid form
add an equal volume of Benedict’s reagent, heat in a water bath for five minutes
