What are broadcast storm?

A

This is where a broadcast from network traffic is broadcasted through all network devices ports and then creates a loop of broadcast

What is loop prevention?

A

HWhere the switches create a STP tree protocal port grading some ports are root ports, some ports are blocked some ports are for certain types of communication. This done to prevent broadcast loop.

What is a bridge port data unit guard?

A

IT is used to figure out what port has the root bridge, it makes sure that only certain ports are allowed to send BPDU

What is DHCP snooping?

A

is where the DHCP server to allowed to discover through only one certain ports, and inspects all DHCP traffic and only allowing the traffic through one port

What is Mac filtering?

A

Where the switches look at each network traffic requests and looks the MAC address and then checks its cache of mac addresses stored if it is not on the list that port is then closed
