What is the maximum penalty notices that can be issued at one time?

A

Four notices
- Driver not produce licence is not counted in the total.
- Unregistered and uninsured are counted as one notice

List when a penalty notice cannot be issued.

A
  1. A fatal collision
  2. Offences not included in the fixed penalty handbook
  3. Injury collision or involves a negative blood test and you cannot complete inquiries within 3 calendar months.
  4. when you cannot complete inquires within 1 calendar month.
  5. Person under 16 years of age
  6. Actions of driver (Non-collision) are brought to your notice.
  7. Driver of an ambulance / fire vehicle undertaking urgent duty commits and offence.
  8. Offender is an on-duty police officer (can be issued under direction of a superintendent or above).

What are the steps to cancel a penalty notice?

A

If you have HAVE NOT issued Part C:
1. Draw two diagonal lines through Part A.
2. Write ‘CANCELLED’ in between these two lines.
3. Write a short explanation of the error.
4. if a replacement TIN is being issued, write the replacement TIN number on part A.
5. Sign part A, print your name, rank , station, and date.
6. Get part A signed by a supervisor.
7. Staple part A and part C together and put in the Traffic pigeonhole.

If you HAVE issued Part C:
1. Draw two diagonal lines through Part A.
2. Write ‘CANCELLED’ in between these lines.
3. Write a short explanation of the error.
4. Sign Part A, print your name, rank, station, and date.
5. Get Part A signed by a supervisor
6. Write a report explain the error
7. Staple Part A and the report together and put it in the Traffic pigeonhole.
- Do Not retrieve Part C from the offending driver
