A
Transpyloric plane
Horizontal plate that transects the body through the lower aspect of L1
Crosses costal margin of the ninth costal cartilage
~1/2 way between jugular notch and pubic symphysis
Anatomy
- Opening of stomach into duodenum = pyloric orifice
- C-shaped duodenum
- Inferior aspect of hilum of left kidney
- Superior aspect of hilum of right kidney
