1.) Placenta adheres to myometrium with no intervening decidua
2.) Placenta is within (surrounded by) the myometrium
3.) Placenta tissue is extrauterine or on the uterine serosa

Causes:
1.) Abnormalities in the lining of the uterus
2.) Hx of CS delivery
Risk Factors
•previous uterine
surgery
•placenta position
•maternal age
•previous childbirth
•uterine conditions
•presence of tumor
Signs and Symptoms
1.) No signs or symptoms during pregnancy
2.) Vaginal bleeding during the third trimester (23 to 40 weeks)
3.) Labor and delivery massive bleeding
Diagnostics tests:
Imagine tests
~Ultrasound
~ MRI
Blood Tests
~ Alpha fetoprotein
Treatment medical management
1.) Placenta is left in the uterus and the cord ligated
2.) Closure of the uterus is preformed
3.) Methotrexate (Destroy remaining placenta)
Complications
1.) Uterine rupture
2.) Heavy vaginal bleeding premature
3.) Disseminated Intravascular coagulation (DIC)
THERE IS NO WAY TO PREVENT PLACENTA ACCRETA
A serious pregnancy condition that occurs when blood vessels and other parts of the placenta grow too deeply into the uterine wall
