What did Pitt argue about reform?
That if parliament didn’t reform from the inside it would from the outside.
What did he introduce in 1785?
The Reform Bill, to reduce rotten boroughs.
This was unsuccessful though, and Pitt did’t try any more reform during his time in parliment.
What did Pitt do to reform Administration?
He removed many lucrative paid jobs, which required no work.
These were often used as bribes and removed the jobs when the person in the position died to reduce trouble.
What was the Audit Office?
Pitt setup the Audit Office to oversee public expenditure.
Setup central stationery department to stop MPs abusing the free post available to them.
What was Pitt unable to reform?
Slavery and the Poor Law.
