What was Britain’s main source of manufacturing in 1700’s?

Britain was for years a leading manufacturer of cloth, by 1700’s imported raw cotton.
Women would spin cotton to yawn, men weaved the yarn into cloth.

A
Imported from the USA through large plantations, through slave labor.

A
1710, Thomas Newcomen invented ‘Atmospheric Engine’
- Pumped water out of mines
- Main source of power for factories.

Lots of coal in Britain, and was the main fuel for industrial revolution.

A
Used Blast Furnaces creating steel and iron, used for making machinery to help cheapen equipment.
