A

If you have had a previously positive experience you are primed to have a positive effect and the opposite for negative experiences.

Is a group without a treatment control a placebo group? Why do you need this group?

A

No, people know they are not receiving any treatment. You need a no treatment control group to be able to tease out the placebo effect vs. the drug effect.
