When are triptans C/I
A
patients with a history of, or significant risk factors for, IHD or cerebrovascular disease.
This is because they bind to serotonin receptors 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D. This causes vasoconstriction of cranial arteries which usually dilate in migraine.
