what is the interactionists approach (Hollanders theory)

A
  • a combination of trait and social learning theory
  • Psychological core (trait)
  • Typical responses (how you respond based on your psychological core)
  • Role – related behaviour (how one will react when faced with a situation that may require a different side of their personality e.g. defending a family member. – Considers the environment (social learning theory)
  • Genetically inherited traits are triggered by the environment.
