Where is the Lumbar Plexus found?
A
Within the substance of the Psoas Major Muscle and Anterior to Transverse Processes of the Lumbar Vertebrae.

L1-L4 : Anterior Rami.

- Iliohypogastric Nerve.
- Ilioinguinal Nerve.
- Genitofemoral Nerve.
- Lateral Cutaneous Nerve of the Thigh.
- Obturator Nerve.

What is a Lumbosacral Plexopathy?
A
A disorder affecting the lumbar or sacral plexus of nerves - caused by damage to the nerve bundles.

When is a Plexopathy suspected?
A
If symptoms cannot be localised to a single nerve e.g. neuropathic pains, numbness, weakness, wasting.

Aetiology of Lumbosacral Plexopathy.
A
- Diabetic Amyotrophy - Lumbosacral Radioplexus Neurophagy.
- Idiopathic (like Parsonage-Turner of Brachial Plexus).
- Tumour Compression.
