What population group usually get pemphigoid?
A
The elderly (60 years plus)

Do the blister heal with or without scarring?
A
Without scarring

What causes pemphigoid?
A
IgG autoantibodies against basement membrane

What level does the blistering occur at?
A
The Subepidermal level.
- (Deeper than in pemiphus vulagris which is at the dermal-epidermal junction)
- Also why in pemphigoid they are tense whilst in PV they burst.

How do you differentiate PV for pemphigoid?
A
Skin biopsy for routine and direct immunofluorescence
