Children and adults younger than 30 years of age.

A
A streptococcal infection 2-4 weeks prior.

How do you describe guttate psoriasis?
A
As tear drop papules on the trunk and limbs.

How do you manage guttate psoriasis?
A
- Most cases resolve spontaneously within 2-3 months.
- Topical agents as per psoriasis.
- UVB phototherapy
- Tonsillectomy may be necessary with recurrent infectinos.

How do you differentiate between pityriasis rosea and guttate psoriasis?

Prodrome
- Guttate psoriasis - preceded by sore throat 2-4 weeks prior.
- Pityriasis rosea - Recent respiratory tract infections.

Apperance
- Guttate psoriasis- Tear drop scaly papules on the trunks and limbs.
- Pityriasis rosea - Herald patches followed 1-2 weeks later by multiple erythematous slightly raised oval lesions with fine scale confied to the outer aspects of the lesions. May run parallel to Langer’s Lines which can produce a fir tree apperance.

Treatment
- Most resolve spontaneously in 2-3 months. Psoriasis treatment.
- Self-limiting and resolves after around 6 weeks.

A
Young adults.

A
Self limiting and usually disappears after 4-6 weeks.
