what is the aetiology of PCOS?
A
- Hyperinsulinaemia results in increased ovarian androgen synthesis and reduced SHBG
- This leads to an increase in free androgens

- Oligomenorrhoea or amenorrhoea
- Clinical or biochemical signs of hyper- androgenism or elevated testosterone
