Classically papillary microabscesses.

18
Q

What other condition does dermatitis herpetiformis have a link with?

A

Coeliac disease.
IgA antibodies target gliadin in gluten.
Immune complexes form in dermal papillae and activate complement

19
Q

What is the dermis divided into?

The papillary dermis

The reticular dermis

20
Q

Where is the papillary dermis?

A

Just beneath the epidermis

21
Q

What is contained within the reticular dermis?

A

Appendages structures - sweat glands, pilosebacceous units.

22
Q

What type of collagen is the dermis made from?

A

Type 1 and type 3 collagen

23
Q

What are munro microabscesses a sign of?

A

Psoriasis.

They are a collection of neutrophils in the keratin layer.
