What is “Flight Duty Period (FDP)”?
A period that begins when a flight crewmember is required to report for duty win the “intention of conducting a flight, a series of flights or positioning/Ferry flights..” and ends when the aircraft is parked after the last flight of the day with no intention of further flights.
What is a “Theater”?
A geographical area in which the distance between the flight crewmember’s FDP departure point and arrival point differs no more than 60 degrees longitude
What does it mean to be “Acclimated”?
When a flight crewmember has been in a theater for 72 hours, with at least 36 consecutive hours free from duty
What does “Window of Circadian Low” mean?
A period of maximum sleepiness that occurs between 0200 and 0559 during a physiological night
What are the flight crewmember’s restriction for “Total Flight Time?
100 hours in any 672 consecutive hours OR1,00 hours in any 365 consecutive calendar day period.
What are the flight crewmember’s restriction for “Total FDP Time”?
60 FDP hours in any 168 consecutive hours OR190 FDP hours in a any 672 consecutive hours
How many consecutive hours of Rest are required before beginning any Reserve or FDP?
30 hours within the past 168 consecutive hour period10 hours after being released from Duty.8 of the 10 hours of uninterrupted hours of sleep opportunity
What are the Flight Duty Period (FDP) Extensions?
Maximum FDP of 2 hoursIf FDP extension is over 30 min, pilots are restricted to one extension until the next 39 hours of rest preceding 168 consecutive hours.FDP can NOT be extended if it exceeds the cumulative FDP limits
