short duration central constant not worse by movement no GIT disturbance no temperature site + severity varies

high temp

not unwell
what are features of pneumonia ?
sicker than abdo signs
usually right LL
what are signs of pyloric stenosis ?
non-bilious projectile vomiting
weight loss
cap gas - alkalosis, hpyochloraemia, hypokalaemia
how do you manage pyloric stenosis ?
test feed
IV fluid
USS
periumbilical pyloromyotomy
how does malrotation/volvulus present ?
bile vomiting
how do you manage malrotation ?
upper GI contrast
laparotomy
how does intussusception present ?
6-12 month Hx of viral illness + colic bilious vomiting 4 second cap refill bloody mucus PR
how do you investigate intussusception
USS - target sign
how do you manage intussusception ?
pneumostatic reduction - air enema
laparotomy
what is gastrochisis and how do you manage it ?
abdominal wall defect, gut eviscerated and exposed
primary / delayed closure
TPN
what is exomphalos ?
umbilical defect with covered viscera
what are anomalies associated with exomphalus ?
cardiac chromosomal renal neuro Beckwith-Weideman syndrome
