* Extreme Physical reaction: noticably uncomfortable and hesitant, red face, covering mouth, gaging and crying at one point, uncomfortable mouth, high anxiety levels - 80/100
* Asked Qs about the beans he holds
Phobia of Bees
After Phobia treatment:
Wore a jacket for 4 years to protect her from bees no matter what (her impairment def. affects her ability to function)
Begins 118 (w/ cameras and buildup to bee confrontation), BPM ~115 when the bees are seen
She normally runs away no matter what
Phobia of Spiders
- Early memory of a grandmother screaming about one in the house
- Heart beating, panic, adrenaline
- Swerved into traffic with one in the car and almost died from a crash
- Couldn’t even say the word spider
Depression video account 1
- Anxiety since she was young, tighness in chest, stomach pain, physical reactions
- ~middle school depression kicked in and worsened over the year
- Sense of worthlessness
- Hid it from people, scuicidal ideation, self harm
- Hotline evaluation to social worker made her realise she felt like death was her only option even though she didn’t want to die
- She felt humiliated by herself
- Validation and hope and help gave her a break, gave her solutions
Affective Disorder Definition
Symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder
- Main Symptomsm(present in past 2 weeks): Depressed mood for most of/all of the day, nearly every day
- AND/OR
- Loss of interest or pleasure in all or most activities
Other Possible Symptoms Include: - Significant change in appetite/weight
- Frequent insomnia or hypersomnia (excessive sleeping)
- Inability to relax or sit still, or excessive lethargy
- Daily fatigue or loss of energy
- Excessive feelings of worthlessness or guilt
- Loss of concentration or ability to think
- Recurrent thoughts of death, scuicidal idealisation, attempt or plan

- Normal happy childhood, but later became more adrift and disconected
- Feelings of uselessness, given anti-depressents but they did little, socially struggles and lost firends and struggled to feel close with friends
- Despite usefull therapy they deteriorated and attempted to take their life, struggled and slid into dispair, attempted again and onlhy survived because of a wellness chack by th epolice because their tharapist could tell that they were off
- Attempted shock therapy and medication which only worsened symptoms and introduced new ones
- Smells that weren’t real and sound ones (her own name) - common Schizophrenia symptom
- Felt that her medical team were plotting to harm her (delusions symptom)
- Boyfriend supported her and took her to hospital, validated her feelings instead of dissmising them
Features of Schizophrenia
Chronic, long term Illness
Does not mean you are dangerous or violent, and is not the patient’s fault or that of someone else
Positive symptoms of Schizophrenia
Over-exaggerated feelings or thoughts
Negative symptoms of Schizophrenia
loss of interest on normal interactions
