Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Definition: Occurs when a member is called back to duty while on a regularly scheduled day off, of after more than one (1) hour has elapsed following completion of a tour of duty.
Call Back
Definition: Occurs when a member works an even that requires a special overtime code.
Coded Call Back
Definition: Overtime incurred for required appearances at trails, pre-trail conferences, hearings, depositions, coroner inquests, or any other judicial purpose involving actions, activities, or incidents arising out of and in the performance of the member’s employment with the department.
Court Time
Definition: When a member is called back to work one (1) hour or less after their regular tour of duty has ended, or when the member is required to stay on-duty seven (7) minutes or more after their regular tour of duty has ended.
Extension of Duty
Definition: Paid time off (compensatory time) or paid overtime for time worked in excess of the total number of hours of a member’s regular tour of duty.
Overtime
Definition: When a member works four (4) continuous hours or less prior to the start of their regular duty hours.
Prior to Duty
Definition: When a member is required to remain within a responsible time to a court for the purpose or providing testimony in a court proceeding.
Court Stand-By
Definition: A period of time that elapses between the beginning and the conclusion of the regular hours of assignment, when a member is regularly schedule to be on duty or stationed at a prescribed place.
Tour of Duty
