1/3rd over 45, 1/2 over 70
What can OA be secondary to?
RA, previous injury, calcium crystal deposition
What normally causes primary OA?
general wear and tear
What is the common presentation of OA?
Pain worse on activtiy, better with rest morning stiffness lasting less than 30 mins crepitus joint swelling Bouchards and Hiberdeans nodes Spinal stenosis
What are the LOSS radiological signs of osteoarthritis?
Loss of joint space
Osteophytes
Subchondral cysts
Subchondral erosions
What grading system is used for OA? Whats 0 and whats 4?
Kellgren Lawrence grading scale
0 - no radiographic findings
4 - definite osteophytes with severe joint narrowing and subchondral sclerosis
