The diploid PG cell divides by mitosis several times to form diploid oogonia

The diploid oogniia do not divide but instead grow in size

the PO undergoes meiosis. The first meiotic division results in 2 cells of very unequal size the larger cell is the secondary oocyte
They do not divide until ovulation

The SO divides to form the haploid ovum and other polar body, whislt the first polar body divides to form 2 more polar bodies
