What is the MOA for Ondansetron?
A
Ondansetron is an antiemitic
It blocks serotonin recptors in brain and GI tract reducing nausea and vomiting

What are the indications for ondansetron?
A
Clinically significant nausea or vomiting

Contraindications/cautions/pregnancy for ondansetron?
A
- Known severe allergy
- Age less 1 year
Caution: known prolongued QT syndrome, it may prolongue the interval if administer
Safety not demonstrated with pregnancy. May be administered if vomiting nausea is severe, no breastfeeding

What is the appropriate dosage for ondansetron?
A
8mg PO >/= 12 years

What is the onset and duration of ondansetron?
A
PO 10-20mins, duration 4-8 hrs
