2. Inhibits cylcooxygenase which reduces prostaglandin and thromboxane production

• Known severe allergy

* Third trimester of pregnancy

• Known bleeding disorder
• Clinically significant bleeding
• Known worsening of bronchospasms with NSAIDs

• Aspirin should generally be withheld as it may cause harm to the baby (particularly in third trime)
• Aspirin can be taken by breastfeeding mums but they should stop breastfeeding and contact their LMC
