What is postparturient hemoglobinuria in cattle related to?

A

Marked hypophosphatemia, usually seondary to grazing in poor phosphate soils.

Clinical signs: depression, anorexia, decreased milk production, hemoglobinuria, anemia and icterus during the first month after calving. Anemia is usually very marked and at day 4-5, a marked erythropoietic response is observed.
