A
  • DNA helicase breaks hydrogen bonds
  • separates into 2 strands
  • each exposed polynucleotide strand acts as template
  • free complimentary nucleotides bind by enzyme (DNA polymerase)
  • each new DNA molecule has 1 new & 1 old strand
