May a CB be reset prior to power up the aircraft?

A

If a CB is tripped on the ground, DO NOT reset until contacting maintenance control to discover the cause.

What emergency equipment is located in the cockpit?

A

Two escape ropes, three smoke goggles, three life jackets, one PBE, one halon extinguisher, one crash ax and two flash lights. “four gear pins”

How do you test the crossfeed valve?

A

You may select the LOW1 or LOW2 position of the crossfeed knob and monitor the EICAS for “FUEL XFEED OPEN” message. On the fuel page of the MDF the associated electrical pump should read “OFF” and the opposite pump should read “ON”.

A

When should the APU be started?

A

If after establishing aircraft power, any of the batteries have a voltage readout of less than 24v but more than 19v.

A

Wait 6 seconds, repeat the fire test and hold the test button for at least 2 seconds.

What procedure must be used if the APU generator exceed 500Amps?

A

The #1 battery knob should be selected OFF. Wait 3 minutes or 400Amps whichever occurs later, then select Batt #1 knob back to AUTO and place the SHED BUS selector knob to OVRD.

When must the full receiving checklist be accomplished?

A

If a terminating checklist was completed on the previous flight, change in crew, maintenance has been performed or any time the configuration of the aircraft may have been changed during ground layover.

What is the difference between a pre-takeoff contamination check and a takeoff contamination check?

A

The pre-takeoff contamination check is done by someone outside the airplane and involve physically touching the airplane wings, etc. The pre-takeoff check is a visual inspection by the flight crew members.

What are the representative aircraft surfaces?

A

Defined by the manufacturer, all the none heated airplane surfaces except the engines nacelles and the wheels and landing gear assembly.
