What powers the flaps?
2 DC motors.
What are the normal flap setting for landing on the EMB145?
Flaps 22* and flaps 45*.
Under what conditions the ground spoilers will open?
Airplane is on the ground WOW, wheel speed >25 knots and low TLA.
The EICAS message “FLAP LOW SPEED” is a result of?
Loss of one of the flap motors.
When in manual reversion, can the the elevator, ailerons and rudder be actuated mechanically?
Yes
Do the gust lock prevent the movement of the ailerons?
No.
What does the caution message “Rudder Overboost” Means?
Rudder hydraulic system 1 is still “ON” above 135 Kts.
Are the flaps powered in Essential power?
No, the flaps motors are DC power.
Would the speed brakes open with flaps 22* selected?
No. Flaps will not open with flaps beyond 9*.
Would ExpressJet allows flaps 22* takeoffs?
No. Only flaps 9* and 18* are authorized operationally.
What are the requirement for the speedbrakes to open?
The flaps have to be 0-9*, Speedbrake lever open and a Low TLA.
How is pitch trim accomplished?
By re-positioning the horizontal stabilizer.
